BLACKBOARD WRITING  COMPETITION (22 August,2025)

A Black Board Writing Competition was organized by B.A.B.Ed Department of  PCM SD College for Women on to promote creativity, neatness, and effective presentation skills among students. The event was held in the college premises with great enthusiasm and active participation from students of various streams.

The main objective of the competition was to enhance students’ writing skills, encourage innovative expression, and develop their ability to present ideas clearly on the blackboard. Such activities play an important role in the overall personality development of students, as the college strongly emphasizes co-curricular learning along with academics.


Movie Screening Activity (13 September,2025)

The B.A. B.Ed Department of PCM SD College for Women organized an educational activity by screening the movie ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ to help students understand the challenges faced by special children. The activity was conducted in the college premises with active participation from students and faculty members. The main objective of the activity was to create awareness about learning disabilities, particularly dyslexia, and to develop empathy and sensitivity among future educators. The film beautifully portrays the life of a child struggling with academic pressure and misunderstood abilities, highlighting the importance of proper guidance and emotional support.

Students attentively watched the movie and were deeply moved by its message. After the screening, a discussion session was held where students shared their views and reflected on the importance of inclusive education, patience, and understanding while dealing with special children. The activity helped them connect theoretical knowledge with real-life situations.

The faculty members emphasized the role of teachers in identifying and nurturing the unique talents of every child. They encouraged students to adopt a compassionate and supportive approach in their future teaching careers.

The activity concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impact on students and enhancing their awareness and understanding of the needs and challenges of special children.


 POSTER MAKING COMPETITION (24 October,2025)

The B.A. B.Ed Department of PCM SD College for Women organized a Poster Making Competition to encourage creativity and artistic expression among students. The event was conducted in the college premises with great enthusiasm and active participation from students.

The main objective of the competition was to provide a platform for students to showcase their talent, spread awareness on important social issues, and enhance their creative skills. Participants were given various themes such as environmental protection, women empowerment, education, and social responsibility.

PSTET Coaching by Department of Education (2nd February,2026)

The PSTET coaching program conducted by the Department of Education at PCM SD College for Women is designed to prepare B.Ed and education students for the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET).

Syllabus and Topics Covered by Prof. Ritu Gill & Prof. Rachana Ralhan:

The coaching program covered all major sections of PSTET in detail:

1. Child Development and Pedagogy

  • Growth and development stages
  • Learning theories (Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg)
  • Inclusive education and classroom environment

2. Language Proficiency (Punjabi/English/Hindi)

  • Grammar and vocabulary
  • Reading comprehension
  • Language teaching pedagogy

3. Subject-Specific Preparation

  • Mathematics: Basic concepts and problem-solving
  • Environmental Studies: Environmental awareness and pedagogy
  • Social Science: History, Civics, Geography

Poster Making Competition: “Save Life, Save Earth”(18 February,2026)

The Poster Making Competition on the theme “Save Life, Save Earth” was organized by the B.A. B.Ed Department of PCM SD College for Women to spread awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable living. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their creativity and concern for the planet.

The main objective of the competition was to encourage students to express their ideas on protecting the environment and promoting eco-friendly practices. Participants created beautiful and meaningful posters highlighting issues such as pollution, deforestation, climate change, and the importance of saving natural resources.

Students used vibrant colors, powerful slogans, and innovative designs to convey messages like “Save Earth, Save Life,” “Go Green,” and “Protect Our Planet.” Each poster reflected awareness, creativity, and a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

 


WORKSHOP on “From Practical Files to Professional Portfolios: Skill Development for Future Educators” (6th March, 2026)

The Department of B.A. B.Ed. of PCM SD College for Women, under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a workshop titled “From Practical Files to Professional Portfolios: Skill Development for Future Educators” on 26th February, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:40 PM. The workshop aimed to guide future educators on transforming traditional practical files into effective professional portfolios that showcase their skills, creativity, and teaching competencies.

The session focused on the importance of maintaining a well-structured professional portfolio as an essential tool for career development in the field of education. Students were introduced to the concept of a teaching portfolio and its significance in demonstrating pedagogical skills, lesson planning abilities, classroom management strategies, and innovative teaching practices.

 During the workshop, participants were provided with practical insights on organizing their academic work, reflective journals, lesson plans, teaching aids, and internship experiences into a professional format. Emphasis was placed on presenting achievements, certifications, and creative teaching materials in a systematic and visually appealing manner.


 Internship Program on Yoga & Meditation ( 3rd March,2026 – 9th March,2026)

The B.A. B.Ed Department of PCM SD College for Women organized an Internship Program on Yoga to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic development among students. The program was conducted with great enthusiasm and active participation from students. The primary objective of the internship program was to create awareness about the importance of yoga in daily life and to develop a healthy lifestyle among students. During the program, students were trained in various yoga asanas, pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation practices under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Participants actively engaged in sessions that focused on improving flexibility, concentration, and stress management. They also learned about the benefits of regular yoga practice for both physical and mental health. The program emphasized discipline, consistency, and mindfulness as essential aspects of a balanced life.




 NATIONAL WEBINAR ON STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS (9th April,2026)

The Department of Education of PCM SD College for Women organized a National Webinar on “Stress Management for Teachers and Students” to address the growing concerns related to mental health in the academic environment. The webinar aimed at spreading awareness and equipping participants with practical strategies to manage stress effectively. The National Webinar conducted by the Department of Education at PCM SD College for Women was highly informative and beneficial. It successfully addressed the issue of stress among teachers and students and provided effective solutions to manage it. Such initiatives are essential for creating a supportive and healthy educational environment.
