Teachers Day Celebration

A poster making competition was organized in the B.A. B.Ed. department on the occasion of Teacher’s Day on 3^rd September. This competition aimed to allow students to express their gratitude and respect for their teachers through creativity and art. Many students participated in this with great enthusiasm. It was the good exposure for the students.

Hindi Diwas 

A Moulik Lekhan Pratiyogita was organized by the Hindi Sahitya Dhara of Hindi department with the collaboration B.A. B.Ed. department to celebrate Hindi Diwas on 14^th September. The event aimed to celebrate the significance of the Hindi language and encourage students and participants to express their thoughts in the form of short stories, poems and essay.

                                                              Workshop 

A One-Day Orientation cum Review Workshop on ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’ for Doaba region was successfully organized at PCM SD College for Women by B.A. B.Ed. department, in collaboration with NITTTR, the Regional Coordinating Institute of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The workshop aimed to acquaint participants with innovative proposals and technologies geared towards sustainable rural development, in line with the objectives of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.

 

Blackboard Writing Competition 

A blackboard writing competition was organized on 26^th September in the department as a part of educational activities which aimed at enhancing the writing proficiency of the students. All the students of the department participated in this activity with enthusiasm and zeal. Students got a chance to present their artistic and aesthetic skills through this event. It was a very good opportunity for the students to improve their writing skills.

 

Game-based learning

Game-based learning is one teaching technique that is becoming popular for helping students reach their learning goals. Game-based learning refers to a method of teaching in which students participate in various activities to study a specific subject.  To engage students in academic learning experiences Game based learning approach was used in the classroom. Students gained information through game-based learning. 

Lecture

A lecture was organized by the department on the topic “Various Teaching Approaches”. The objective of this activity was to give the knowledge about the teaching methods used during teaching. It is also essential for teachers to have knowledge about various teaching methods to make teaching more interesting and creative. 

Workshop

A Workshop was organized on the theme “Role of Emotional Intelligence in daily life” on 27^th February 2024.  The aim of this workshop was to give knowledge to the students about the role of emotional intelligence in our lives. The workshop helped students develop emotional insight, identify the impact of their emotional intelligence on connecting with others and practice maintaining empathy. 

Poster Making Competition

Poster making competition was organized on 26th October 2023 under the compaingn Swachhata Pakhwada 3.0. Theme of this competition was Swachh Bharat Mission. Students prepared beautiful charts. Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar praised the students for their enthusiastic participation.

Swachhta Pakhwada 3.0 Compaign

An initiative was taken by the B.A. B.Ed. department under the Champaign "Swachhta Pakhwada 3.0" as per the direction of Government of India on 11th October 2023. One hour cleanliness drive was organised in one of the surrounding schools with the help of college students which contributed towards the goals of Swachh Bharat. 

              

Lecture on Mental Health Day

A lecture was organized on Mental Heath day on 10^th October 2023. The main          objective of this session was to aware the students about mental health issues.Mrs. Ramanjit Talwar discussed the symptoms, causes and prevention of mental disorders. The session ended with question -answer session. it was very informative session.  

Workshop

A workshop was organized by the department on 4^th October 2023. The theme of this workshop was ‘Use of Psychological tests in teaching learning process. Students learned how these tests can be used for the students in the classroom and make the teaching-learning more effective. Teacher can use these tests to monitor the progress of students and make any necessary adjustments.

             

Discussion on Lesson Planning and Teaching Skills

A discussion was organized by the department on the topic 'Lesson Planning and Teaching Skills' on 29th September 2023. The objective of this session was to make the students ideal teachers by giving them knowledge about lesson planning and various teaching skills. The students acquired knowledge how to prepare a lesson plan and use of various teaching skills. This session was informative for the students.

Hindi Diwas Celebration

Poetical Recitation event was organized to celebrate Hindi Diwas with the collaboration of Shitya Dhara of department of Hindi. Students participated in this event with great enthusiasm. Sixty students participated of B.A. and B.Ed. The event showcased the rich tapestry of Hindi literature through the heartfelt renditions of classic and contemporary poems. Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar appreciated the students for their participation.

 

               

Teacher Days Celebration

A Slogan writing Competition was organised by the Department of the college to celebrate Teacher Day. The competition aimed to foster the art of concise and impactful communication through slogans. Students were challenged to craft slogans that addressed various social, environmental and topical issues. The event not only provided a platform for self-expression but also encouraged critical thinking and awareness of pressing issues. Approximately 20 students enthusiastically participated. The participants left no stone unturned in their pursuit of crafting memorable slogans. Their slogans covered a wide range of topics.

              

INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR

An International Webinar was organized on 22^nd April, 2023. The theme of the webinar was “Women and Politics in South Asia.” The keynote speaker was Dr. Khum Prasad Sharma (Lecturer in English) from Padmakanya Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar accorded a warm welcome to the speaker. Dr. Khum Prasad gave a very informative lecture on the topic. 

 

National Webinar

A national webinar was organized on 19^th April, 2023. Dr. Dinesh Chahal (Professor) from central university of Haryana was the resource person of this day. Topic of this webinar was NEP 2020 and Teacher Education. Dr. Dinesh Chahal threw the considerable light on the topic. It was really an informative session.

CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY

International Women Day was celebrated on 9^th march 2023. The purpose of celebrating this day was to raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among the students.  A slogan writing competition was organized on this day. Students participated in this event and prepared beautiful charts. Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated all the participants.  

ACTIVITY ON BLACKBOARD WRITING SKILL

An activity was organized for students on the topic “Black-Board Writing Skill on 27^th February 2023. The main aim of this activity was to make the Pupil Teacher aware how to use the black board to make teaching more interesting. All the Students participated in this activity with great enthusiasm. Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar motivated students to take part in such type of activities to learn more skills. 

COMPETITION ON TIMELINE

A competition was organized on topic "Preparation of Timeline on Historical Events" on 17th February 2023. The main aim of this event was to give them knowledge about different teaching aids and development of creativity. Students of Semester VI participated in this competition and prepared beautiful Timelines on different topics. Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the students and motivated them to take part in such type of activities. 

 SEMINAR

 Indian women have significantly contributed in the field of Hindi literature equal to men writers.  A seminar was organised with the collaboration of department of Hindi on the topic “Contribution of Women writers in Hindi Literature” on 10^th November 2022. Students of B.A. and B.A. B.Ed. participated enthusiastically. Students threw light on the literature written by the different women writers. About Fifty students participated in the seminar. Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the students. 

COMPETITION ON MICRO TEACHING SKILLS

With the motive to increase self confidence and inculcate the teaching skills among the students, a micro teaching competition was organized on 9^th November, 2022. Students participated and showed different teaching skills.  Arshpreet Kaur got first prize, Ashima nailed it to second prize and Firdoush got third prize. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar felicitated the winners and motivated the students to participate in such competition for their holistic development.    

DIWALI FEST 

Green or eco friendly diwali is the same as the festival of lights, but with a difference that we ensure that the environment is not harmfully impacted. Keeping this in mind an activity was organized on 20^th October, 2022 by the department under the theme “Diwali fest-eco friendly” to celebrate the Diwali. Under this theme, students prepared gift item such as wall-hanging, coloured flower pot, candle tray etc. with the help of waste materials. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar congratulated the participants.

MODEL MAKING COMPETITION

A model making competition was organized on 3^rd October, 2022. The main aim of this competition was to develop creativity in the students. Students participated in this activity with great enthusiasm and prepared beautiful models. Students learned from this activity about different kind of models teachers can prepare to make teaching more interesting and easy. 

Celebration of Hindi Diwas

Poster Making and Creative Writing Competition were  organized by the Department on the occasion of Hindi Divas on 14th &15th  September, 2022. Approximately, sixty students of B.A and B.A. B.Ed  participated enthusiastically. In this Competition, students of the college expressed their love for Hindi language by writing on the famous Hindi poets such as Sarveshvar Dyal Saxena, RamDhari Singh Dinkar, Subhadra Kumari Chohan, Shri JaiShankar Prasad and Nirala. Apart from this, students also made beautiful posters in Hindi language. In her address to the students, the worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prasher emphasized the historical, cultural and economic significance of the Hindi Diwas and encouraged the students to feel proud in making Hindi the language of their daily use. The Principal congratulated the department for the successful conduct of the event and extended her best wishes to the participants.

Essay Writing Competition  organized  on 27^th April 2022.

Writing is an important part of life as it helps to express feelings and thoughts to the other in a relatively permanent way and enhances critical thinking, creative thinking and helps in organizing thoughts and improve communication skills. keeping this in mind an Essay Writing Competition was organized by the department. Students were asked to write on the theme “An effective use of ICT for Educational Purpose”. The purpose of this competition was to encourage the students to enhance their thinking and writing skills. All Students participated with great enthusiasm. Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the winners and motivated them to take part more often in such co-curricular activities. 

Women Day Celebration 

Poster making and Slogan Writing Competition were organized with the collaboration of Fine Arts department on 9^th march 2022 to celebrate Women’s day. The purpose of celebrating women’s day was to aware the students about the status and dignity of women in the society.  Students were asked to express their ideas through paintings and slogans. The posters made by the students showed the different aspects of women's life and spread a beautiful message with their creativity. Students participated with great enthusiasm. The Chief Guest of this competition was worthy principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar.  

“Create Best out of Waste” competition organized  on 18^th November 2021

A competition “Create Best out of Waste” was organized by the department under the project “Green Diwali” on 18^th November 2021. The main objective of this competition was to spread the message 'save the environment by celebrating green Diwali' and to create love for environment by making best out of waste with the help of recycling things. Students used their creative thoughts to frame-up beautiful items. Students prepared various articles such as garden pot, decorative things and photo frame etc. with the help of different waste material. Students of Semester-I, Semester-III and Semester-V participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Pooja Prashar congratulated and motivated the students. 

Slogan writing competition organized 

A Slogan writing competition was organized by the Dr. Radhakrishnan Society on 28^th October 2021 on the “Educational Thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi”. This competition was organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Father of nation. The main aim was to give the students knowledge about the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi in the field of education. Our worthy Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the winners and appreciated the participation of all the participants.

Webinar on  "Virtual classroom and challenges in teaching learning process"

A webinar was organized on 11^th June 2021. The topic of this webinar was “Virtual classroom and challenges in teaching learning process”. The resource person was Dr. Rajnish Sharma, Assistant Professor at Department of Education, DAV University. She expressed about the medium of online education. She explained the solutions to overcome the challenges faced during online education. Apart from the above, She gave information about the various educational programs such as Diksha, Swayam Prabha, E-Pathshala etc.  More than a hundred students participated in this Webinar. Principal Dr. Kiran Arora expressed gratitude to the spokesperson and appreciated Dr. Surinder kaur (incharge Department) for these efforts. 

Basant Panchami Celebration

On the occasion of Basant Panchami, cooking competition was organised on 30th January, 2020. Students of B.A. B.Ed. department enthusiastically participated in the competition. The event gave a platform to the students to demonstrate their culinary knowledge. The event not only provided a platform to the students to foster their creativity and decision making skills but also helped them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest. Our worthy Principal Dr. Kiran Arora praised the students for their participation.

“Best out of Waste” competition organized on 18^th December 2020

A competition “Best out of Waste” was organized under the project “Save Environment”on 18^th December 2020. The main objective of this competition was to spread the message to save the environment. Under this project, students prepared various things such as garden pot, decorative things and photo frame etc. with the help of different waste material. Students of Semester-I and Semester-II participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. Principal Dr. Kiran Arora congratulated and motivated the students.

SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION ON ENVIRONMENT POLLUTION- A GLOBAL ISSUE

Online Slogan Writing Competition was organized by the Department on 2^nd July 2020. The theme of this competition was “Environment Pollution- A Global Issues”. Students from different colleges participated in this competition and sent their posters. E-Certificates were given to all the participants. Principal Dr. Kiran Arora congratulated the winner and motivated them to take part in such type of activities. 

ONLINE POSTER MAKING COMPETITION 

The poster making competition was organized during lockdown period on 30th May 2020 at National level.  The theme was COVID-19.  The main aim of this event was to aware the students about the pandemic disease. Such types of activities are necessary for harmonious development of the students. Moreover students can utilize their time and enhance their skills. Many students participated in this competition with great enthusiasm.

 

VISIT TO SPECIAL SCHOOL

Department of B.A. B.Ed. visited Prayas School (Specially School for Mentally Disabled Children), Jalandhar on 11^th October, 2019. All the students participated in this noble venture. They distributed notebooks, pencils and other essential things among the special children. The students learnt about the value of respecting differently challenged pupils and got firsthand experience of education to the disabled children through the visit.

TRIP TO SULTANPUR LODHI

An educational trip to Sultanpur Lodhi was organized by B.A.B.Ed. Department of PCMSD College for Women on 3^rd October 2019. Students paid obeisance at different Gurdwara's i.e Gurdwara Ber Sahib, Gurdwara Hatt Sahib and Gurdwara Bebe Nanki Ji. Coordinator of Department Mrs. Surinder Kaur Narula and other staff members also accompanied the students.

Poster making competition  

Poster making competition was organized on 29^th August 2019. All the students participated in this competition with great enthusiasm. Students prepared charts on different topics such as Environment Pollution, Drug Addiction, Female Foeticide etc. Our worthy Principal Dr. Kiran Arora was judge of this competition. She motivated the students with her precious views and also congratulated the winners of this event. During this event coordinator Mrs. Surinder Narula was also present along with other staff members.
